Villa San Giacomo

It’s been years since I’ve been, and I dream of going back… I’ve stayed at the Villa twice, and both times it was a life changing experience. The food, the people, the views, and the Villa itself are heaven on earth. If I had the money, I’d book it out and take everyone I love the most. A truly magical place.

Villa San Giacomo is one of those places that feels like pure magic. Perched above Positano, it offers breathtaking views over the Amalfi Coast and the perfect mix of elegance and charm. We photographed a wedding there, and every corner of the villa from the beautiful terraces to the classic Italian interiors was simply stunning. The atmosphere, the service, and the views made it an unforgettable experience for everyone.

The service was impeccable! My brother and his bride booked out the villa for their wedding and we were treated like royalty by the staff to say the least. There are common issues just like any other place like ants and running out of hot water but that didn’t even phase us because of the kindness and service the staff provided. The views were beautiful sights to see. My husband and I are grateful to have had the Positano experience in this villa especially with family and friends. Highly recommend this place!

I returned in October 22 from my sixth stay at Villa San Giacomo, without doubt one of the most spectacular properties in Positano. Friends and I meet there every year - each year it's hard to leave - and I look forward to the next. It's like coming home week from the moment I land at the port! My luggage is handed off to the friendly porters and usually arrives to the villa before I do. Although taxi service and an intercity bus is available most of the way, I would never want to miss the magical walk up to the villa with its breathtaking view to the sea. Upon arrival, every detail is attended to by the lovely house manager Chiara, she and the staff makes sure our stay is perfect. Incredible meals prepared by a private chef (we toasted her every evening), ice cold prosecco and aperitivo by the pool, daily maid service, and relaxing on the vine covered veranda. Forever memories made each year at this dream property - can't wait for our next stay!

Unfortunately this Villa is not up to standard. There was no hot water last night and this morning. The manager said she fixed the problem however we went without hot water last night and this morning which is not appropriate. We just tested the water again tonight and it's still not working so she definitely didn't fix the issue. There was no mention of the 80'euro porter service to the Villa and the incredibly long, steep and stressful walk - we expected this for Positano but having no mention of the costs - we could have booked a better room somewhere else! There was extremely loud construction right opposite the villa shaking our room and woke us up - no relaxing by the pool all day and only for a few hours because the noise from the construction was ferociously loud. No mention of this to guests on arrival. There was absolutely no service offer of help from anyone working here. Breakfast was nice and the view is beautiful however the Villa Manager Chiara chose to argue with me over these matters instead of resolving them. She was quite rude and in Australia - the customer is always right and our needs come first. Do not waste your time or money here.
