Terms of Service

By accessing or using margot.co you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Margot is a marketplace and directory that helps couples discover wedding venues and contact them directly. We are not a party to any contract, booking, deposit, or agreement you enter into with a venue.

We do not guarantee:

• That any venue is available, suitable, or accurately described.
• That pricing shown on a listing matches the venue's current quote.
• The conduct, quality of service, or business practices of any venue.
• That a venue will reply to your inquiry or fulfill any quote.

Always confirm details directly with the venue before paying a deposit or signing a contract.

• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• You're responsible for activity that happens under your account, including keeping your credentials secure.
• You must be at least 18 years old to use Margot.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose risk to other users.

• Don't scrape, copy, or republish venue data at scale.
• Don't send abusive, fraudulent, or misleading inquiries.
• Don't attempt to interfere with the service or with other users.
• Don't use Margot to circumvent a venue's published policies.

Margot connects you with venues, but the relationship that follows is between you and the venue. You are responsible for:

• Verifying venue details (capacity, pricing, dates, inclusions) directly before committing.
• Reading and signing any contract the venue puts in front of you.
• Any deposits, payments, cancellations, or disputes between you and the venue.

When you contact a venue through Margot, your inquiry and the messages you send are shared with that venue. Venues are independent businesses; their replies, availability, and pricing are their own.

If you claim or list a venue, you represent that you're authorized to do so and that the information you provide is accurate. You're responsible for honoring quoted pricing and availability with couples who contact you through Margot.

Paid features (including venue-owner subscriptions and any couple-side paid services) are billed in US dollars and processed by Stripe, Inc. under Stripe's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel at any time from your account, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

Margot — including the directory, design, copy, and code — is owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service. Content you submit (such as venue notes or inquiry messages) remains yours; you grant us a license to host and display it as needed to operate the service.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that listings are accurate, available, or fit for a particular purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Always confirm details directly with the venue.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Margot is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of bookings, revenue, or data. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars.

Talk to us first. Most issues can be resolved quickly. Before filing any formal claim, email hello@gomargot.co with a description of the dispute and give us 30 days to resolve it.

Binding individual arbitration. If we can't resolve it informally, you and Margot agree to resolve any dispute through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in Delaware. The arbitrator may award the same relief as a court.

Class action waiver. Claims must be brought individually. You and Margot waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative action.

Small claims carve-out. Either side may bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead of arbitration.

30-day opt-out. You can opt out of arbitration by emailing hello@gomargot.co within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.

You can close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing hello@gomargot.co. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms, fraud, or risk to other users, with notice where practical. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution — will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes not subject to arbitration will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Draft — under review. Some venue pages show pricing research: figures that were publicly reported elsewhere, checked by Margot, or provided by the venue. Each figure is labeled with where it came from and the year it applied to, when known.

Researched pricing is historical and is not a quote. It has not been confirmed for your event unless it is marked "Venue-confirmed". Rates, minimums, inclusions, taxes, service charges and other costs may differ. Margot's calculator shows a subtotal of known costs only and lists costs it does not know; it is not an all-in price.

Listings marked as independently researched have not been claimed or confirmed by the venue. Venues can claim their page for free to correct or replace this information, and anyone can ask us to correct a listing by emailing hello@gomargot.co.

These labels do not guarantee accuracy. Always confirm pricing directly with the venue before booking.
