My best friend and I had such an amazing, relaxing stay at Troutbeck. Our suite was beautiful, with a separate living room and a gorgeous sunroom with a bathtub, which was such a fun and special touch. We took advantage of so many of the wellness amenities during our stay, including a sound bath and massages, and my friend also did the red light sauna. The entire experience felt incredibly peaceful and restorative. The food was excellent across the board, everything we had was so delicious. I especially recommend the quinoa salad for dinner and the pancakes at breakfast! We had such a lovely time and left feeling completely relaxed. We will absolutely be back!
Some places you visit, and some places you step into, like walking through a stone garden gate and finding the city has quietly let go of you. Troutbeck is the second kind. The two-hour drive up from New York is part of the experience, a slow unwinding along a beautiful road until the skyline gives way to autumn trees. Then you arrive: stone walls wrapped in wisteria, late-season dahlias, gravel paths that invite you to wander. Inside, the interiors feel lived-in rather than designed. Libraries glow under warm lamps, there are worn leather sofas and shelves full of history, and every corner seems to hold a story. The food was extraordinary. Everything is sourced from local farms, and you can taste it: briny oysters, perfectly seared scallops, heirloom tomatoes with burrata, a beautiful cheese board. Each dish felt honest and alive with the season. What makes Troutbeck special, though, is the people. Every member of the staff was attentive and thoughtful in the smallest details, the kind of care you feel before you notice it. A special thank you to Michele Alfonso, whose leadership was simply impeccable. You can sense that the warmth of the whole place starts with him. A weekend here felt less like a getaway and more like coming back to yourself. I'll be returning.
My arrival at Troutbeck began with a lovely ride from the Wassaic train station. The moment I arrived on the grounds, I instantly opened my heart to this place. The check-in process was seamless and quick, and my room was clean, comfortable, and incredibly charming. I felt as though I had been neatly tucked away in a quiet corner of the Main House, with a beautiful view of the stone garden from my bedroom window. I especially loved the petite office space in my room—it was perfect for taking work calls and journaling in the morning before setting out to explore the wonderful amenities Troutbeck has to offer. And one last thing about the room: the heated bathroom floors! I could have happily stood there all day. lol The staff made my stay even more memorable. Every person I encountered was kind, thoughtful, and sincere in their service. There was a genuine sense of care and hospitality throughout my entire experience. Troutbeck felt peaceful, restorative, and special. I left already looking forward to the day I can return.
An Exceptional Hudson Valley Getaway From the moment we arrived, the staff was genuinely warm, gracious, and attentive. Every interaction reflected a level of hospitality that made us feel truly welcome. We stayed in the Benton House, and our room was beautifully designed, spotless, modern, and exceptionally comfortable. And yes, heated bathroom floors are one of those unexpected luxuries that make an already wonderful stay even better. The food was another highlight of our stay. We enjoyed breakfast each morning and dinner at Troutbeck on two evenings, and every meal was outstanding. We love great food and had high expectations, yet the restaurant still exceeded them. This is farm-to-table dining at its finest. We also took full advantage of the property's many amenities, including the morning group fitness classes, the pool and fitness center, the evening fire pits, and even the complimentary use of a BMW, which we used to visit the spectacular nearby gardens at Wethersfield and Innisfree. Troutbeck strikes a perfect balance between refined elegance and relaxed comfort. Whether you're looking to unwind on the property or explore the surrounding Hudson Valley, it's an exceptional destination. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend it without hesitation.

Can’t recommend Troutbeck enough and already looking forward to coming back.
