We had a disappointing wine tasting. When I booked the wine tasting my options were a regular tasting which said it took place in the tasting room beneath the castle. Or a valley view wine tasting that was more expensive and didn’t specifically state the location. We wanted the view so booked this tasting. When we arrived, a rain storm had just passed and we were seated inside at the tasting room which I can understand due to the weather. However, we were seated in the back of the tasting room and the space had little to no atmosphere. What upset me the most was that as we left, there were people sitting outside in the terrace enjoying their regular wine tasting. As it turns out, there was no need to book the more expensive tasting to enjoy the view We could have saved 18 euros per person as there was no need to book the more expensive tasting to enjoy the view. I had also assumed that our tasting would be up at the castle as the description did not mention that it was not. Furthermore, upon emailing the company it took them over a week to respond to my I jury about the situation. Just be aware if you book here that your tasting will not be at the castle. And, unless you want the food, there is no reason to spend the money in the valley view tasting. Very misleading.

A magical stay. We had visited many years ago and brought our children back. We stayed at one of the Vollas in Il Borgo and enjoyed one of the banquet dinners. The pool, the hosts, and the proximity to Greve are incredible. We will be sure to return and highly recommend.

The property itself is beautiful, and the views and setting made for a truly memorable wedding. Unfortunately, our experience with the accommodations and service was quite disappointing. We were staying with a group for a wedding and were placed in the Lorenzo room, which was the only room without air conditioning. We paid the same rate as the other guests for a four-person room, so it was disappointing that there wasn’t an alternative offered, especially during a 30°C+ heatwave. When we asked if there was anything that could be done, such as providing a portable AC unit or moving us to another room, unfortunately there wasn’t much they were able to offer. We were instead advised to leave the windows open. We also experienced a power outage that lasted over four hours on the day we arrived, and wasn't any additional accommodations or support provided to guests during that time. Overall, we were disappointed with the accommodations and level of service, especially as we had been looking forward to this trip for a long time. That said, the wedding itself was absolutely beautiful, and the incredible company, views, and couple made the celebration very special.

Castello Vicchiomaggio is breathtakingly beautiful. The wines are superb, and service is exceptional. We were there for a wine tasting and lunch recently with Great Italy tours. It was one of best experiences and we ordered their wonderful Chianti wines for delivery in the US. The wine arrived quickly and brought back the memories of our wonderful visit there❤️

Our stay here was the pinnacle of our trip! The castle was absolutely gorgeous, the food was excellent, and the wine tour was lovely. Our only disappointment was that we weren’t informed that breakfast was complimentary, so unfortunately we missed breakfast on two mornings. Otherwise, a truly wonderful stay!
