Mount View Hotel & Spa

What a fantastic find! This beautifully-maintained Art Deco jewel is perfectly located for exploring downtown Calistoga. We got take-out calzones from across the street and ate hanging out on the hotel's veranda. The hot tub is filled with local mineral water--so soothing. Just don't forget your flip-flops to wear around the pool, because the pavement gets hot! Front desk was helpful with our 5:30 AM checkout time and had our breakfast ready to pick up in the morning. If I'm in Calistoga again (which I hope--it's so charming!), I will definitely stay here again.

For the price relative to the other options in the area this is what I expected. A few key take aways - easy and friendly check in. They use real keys and charge a fee if you lose it. - pool and hot tub adequate but not overly fancy or perfectly maintained. - the noise is an issue. Almost all reviews discussed this so we knew what we were getting into. The hotel provides earplugs and we brought a small white noise machine from home and we were able to get reasonable sleep. - house keeping is by request only - they bring tea, coffee, breads, and fruit to your room at a requested time in the morning. A nice touch! - no parking lot but street parking is very easy to find We would stay here again with no issue. It was great as a home base while as we were out and about all day but wouldn't recommend it to someone looking for a tranquil stay lingering at the hotel everyday.

I paid a pretty penny for the cottage in Nov of 2024 and was very disappointed in its state. Room: 2/5 maybe even a 1 star. The carpet was horrendous and the private hot tub was cheap and wobbled. Even leaked. Food: 1/5 terrible breakfast service, like Costco pound cake and meh fruit. Service: 4/5 I guess it was fine, I don’t remember anything bad. Hotel: 5/5 charming! And the pool and hot tub were excellent.

Amazing experience at Obsidian Spa. I booked the 90-minute Shairia massage with Dylan and left feeling completely renewed. The spa atmosphere is peaceful and beautifully inspired by Eastern Ayurvedic details. I loved the thoughtful touch of beginning the treatment with an elixir drink and choice of Ayurvedic body oil. Dylan did an outstanding job working out all my tension and kinks while still making the massage deeply calming. By the end, I felt so relaxed and balanced that I practically floated out the door. One of the best spa experiences I’ve had in Calistoga.

The is a great hotel smack in the middle of Calistoga! You can walk everywhere. The front desk helps with your bags, the building has over 100 years of history. I booked a 2 bed 1 bath for 3 nights. It was great each bedroom has its own sink and closet. Then the bathroom connects the bedrooms. There is also a sitting area with sink, mini fridge and carafes for water.
