Ritzy hotel in an iconic 18th-century building offering modern-chic quarters, plus an outdoor pool.
This hotel was a mixed bag of good and bad. When we first arrived to check in, we were asked to give the team a fifteen minute heads up so they could help us with our luggage. We did and they were waiting for us at the agreed upon location to help with our bags. The receptionist helping us seemed disinterested in helping and was standoffish. We arrived early and were told the room was not ready but they would be in communication which they were. When our room was ready, we went back to the hotel to finish checking in. The receptionist was on her phone when we walked up. If I had not said anything, she would have continued to ignore us. The receptionist did walk us up to our room which was a nice touch. About an hour after checking in, we were relaxing on the bed when we heard the door opening. In walked a stranger and just stared at us. When he realized the mistake he left. Apparently, it was a guest that had been walked up to and let in to the wrong room. We received two free drink tickets so we went to the roof top bar to grab a couple of mocktails. The team upstairs was amazing! It was raining and they refused to let us get wet by opening up an umbrella and walking us towards the covered walkway. The team at the restaurant was also great and so was the food. I would visit the restaurant just to eat the food. However, given the receptionist and the issue with letting a stranger into our room, I wouldn’t stay at the hotel again even though the location was amazing.
Stayed at Casa Arca in San Miguel de Allende and honestly had an amazing experience overall. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful — very boutique, intimate, and full of incredible traditional Mexican decor and design details. The rooms were spectacular and felt luxurious while still maintaining authentic character and charm. The bathrooms were especially amazing, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve experienced at a hotel. The location is also perfect. It’s extremely centralized and walkable to everything in San Miguel, which made exploring the city incredibly easy. Breakfast being included was a huge plus, and the food was excellent. The pool area was also very nice and added to the relaxing atmosphere of the property. The only issue during the stay was with part of the front desk service. One day my key stopped working, and while the staff member reprogrammed it, she only checked whether it opened the main foyer entrance and didn’t think to verify it actually worked for the hotel room itself, which was frustrating and required another trip back downstairs. That said, aside from that small service issue, the overall experience was fantastic. Casa Arca is a gorgeous boutique hotel with an incredible atmosphere, beautiful rooms, and one of the best locations in San Miguel de Allende. Would definitely stay again.
This is a review of the restaurant. We walked in with 11 people for lunch. Seated right away. Quick service. Excellent menu. Wonderful food. Free WiFi.
Love the hotel. Had to change rooms as our fireplace was broken, but the rooms are lovely, tasteful, comfortable, and well equipped. Would suggest a few more hooks and easier explanation for the TV operation, but really nice hotel. Good breakfast and great rooftop w excellent cocktails, food and service. Dino, Daniele, Miguel, all helpful.
The rooms are very comfortable with a modern design. We enjoyed the outdoor bathtub which was relaxing. We slept well in the bed. The hotel is centrally located in the middle of town, walking distance to everything. We included breakfast at the downstairs restaurant. Breakfast was good. They provide a special touch with small dessert to your room. Also a coupon for free two drinks at the upstairs lounge. The roof top lounge has a fantastic view. The town's church constantly rings their bells all the time so that was something that surprised me. Overall this was a nice hotel.
