The hotel had excellent customer service, and the backyard area is beautiful — a lovely pool and large grassy lawn that would be perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Our room was spacious, but unfortunately, the stay itself was uncomfortable. The room was extremely noisy. Every time a car drove by, the walls shook, and you could hear everything outside. The skylights let in full light around 6am, and there was no heat, even though nighttime temperatures dropped to around 40 degrees. All three of us were cold every night. There is a small fireplace, but while it added ambiance, it didn’t warm the room and left our clothes and belongings smelling heavily of smoke — everything needed professional cleaning afterward. I also found it unsettling that birds were kept in very small cages on the property. If you’re looking for a place to truly rest and sleep well, I would recommend considering other options. I can’t speak to the other rooms, but the Dolores room was very noisy and left us exhausted after our three-night stay.

Could not have hoped for a more lovely place to spend a few days in San Miguel de Allende. Our room was charming and comfortable, and included a wood burning fireplace the staff started for us on our final night. We enjoyed coffee every morning from the bar, had a delicious breakfast before checking out, and were taken care of by the friendly staff every moment of our stay. Our only regret is we didn’t have time to enjoy the pool, but the grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The location is superb. Close enough to walk to the city center and many attractions, while still tucked away from the busier parts of town. Overall cannot recommend highly enough. We will definitely return!

The grounds are absolutely stunning and a calm respite from the business of downtown San Miguel. I noticed just how relaxed I was with the beautiful scenery and stunning architecture. The walk to town is not bad at all. I learned to love it to walk off the delicious dinners we had. The bar manager, Diego, was top notch. Our room was so romantic. It is an older property so there are quirks but that’s par for the course.

My family and I spent an incredible week at Villa Santa Monica. Their team took such good care of us, from arranging car transfers to booking brunch, workout class, and handling laundry services. They were so accommodating, and the rooms and grounds are truly breathtaking. You can feel the soul of the town reflected in their design choices, their gardens are astounding, and the peacocks are the cherry on top of the already idyllic experience by the pool. Great location with quick walk into the center of town through a gorgeous park. We more than recommend!

Historic little hotel with a gorgeous courtyard, very nice rooms, and top notch service. Every employee here has been fantastic! Right across the street from the park and a quick walk to all the major attractions and restaurants.
