Glenmere Mansion & Cortile: A Beautiful Tuscan-Inspired Retreat with Room to Elevate the Experience Glenmere Mansion possesses the kind of architectural beauty that immediately sets expectations high. The interiors are exquisite, with an understated European elegance that evokes a private villa in Tuscany. There is a sense of romance and tranquility to the property, and I can easily imagine a leisurely evening on the terrace, watching the sunset over the grounds. The setting is undoubtedly its greatest asset. On October 10, 2026, I visited with my mother and sister to celebrate my mother’s 70th birthday, an occasion that called for something particularly special. While the surroundings were lovely, the hospitality did not quite match the promise of the setting. A celebration of this significance is an opportunity for a property to demonstrate the thoughtful, intuitive service that distinguishes a truly memorable luxury experience. Unfortunately, there was no acknowledgment of the birthday, and the overall energy of the staff felt rather subdued. It was not a question of grand gestures; even a simple, sincere acknowledgment would have made a meaningful difference. The culinary experience was similarly mixed. The $48 burger was enjoyable, but the California burger lacked the depth of flavor one would expect from a restaurant at this price point. More broadly, the food did not leave the lasting impression that the beautiful surroundings suggest it should. At this level, one hopes for not only a lovely setting but also a kitchen that demonstrates comparable care, character, and attention to detail. What makes Glenmere particularly intriguing is that the foundation for an exceptional experience is already there. The architecture, interiors, and atmosphere possess genuine charm and a distinctly European sensibility. With warmer, more attentive service and a more compelling culinary offering, the experience could be elevated considerably. Glenmere is a property I wanted to love. Its beauty invites you to linger, celebrate, and imagine returning for a more leisurely escape. I hope to see it fulfill the considerable promise of its setting, because when exceptional surroundings are matched by gracious hospitality and memorable cuisine, a beautiful visit becomes an occasion worth returning for.

My friend took me there for lunch and it was absolutely wonderful. The service was the best. The food was excellent. The location very private abd beautiful. I had not finished my lunch so they generously packaged it for me and left it at the bar so that it would not be on my table which I appreciated, when I left, apparently my food was picked up by error, they rectified it by making my lunch again for me to take home. we did not see the private rooms but we were able to walk around visit the library and the beautiful living rooms. the Mansion is absolutely gorgeous..

Service was very good everyone was nice. The waiting area (quiet library) is beautiful and cozy. It was lovely receiving tea, parfait and a chocolate during your day at the spa. The locker room is small and I believe of you stay at the actual mansion you can use many of their amenities, because it's not a huge spa where you can go lounge in a steam room or a pool. The parking also is a bit confusing. But very nice it was my first time and I enjoyed it.

Tucked away in the Hudson Valley, just an hour from NYC, Glenmere Mansion transports you to another era. This Italian-inspired villa, now a boutique hotel, is part of Relais & Châteaux and truly lives up to the reputation. We’ve stayed here overnight and also visited for the day to enjoy their spa and delicious farm-to-table dining—and every visit is an unforgettable experience. The grounds are meticulously maintained, the interior design is breathtaking, and the service is exceptional. Their restaurant serves incredible breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with ingredients sourced locally or even from their own farm. The spa is unique, featuring a private Turkish hammam that makes every visit feel rejuvenating. Every time we go, we leave feeling refreshed and inspired—and we can’t wait to return.

Close to ny but oh so far actually. Beautiful grounds, well appointed rooms. Variety of land and sea entrees is high given size of restaurant, and coravin wine is always interesting.
