Terranea Resort

We had a wonderful weekend at Terranea Resort. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and it was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some time away. The resort has a welcoming atmosphere, lovely grounds, and gorgeous ocean views. We left feeling refreshed and would absolutely love to come back!

Today is the final day of our stay at Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes, California, and my wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed a four-day staycation built around a corporate meeting. The experience has been nothing short of fabulous. The staff throughout the resort are exceptional—welcoming, hospitable, friendly, and genuinely attentive. When we arrived, Daileah guided us through the check-in process and did a wonderful job introducing us to the resort and its many amenities. For a casual meal with an incredible ocean view, I highly recommend Nelson’s. Despite being extremely busy, the staff were remarkably efficient, and the bar team was especially attentive and engaging. Nelson’s is just one of more than a dozen dining options across the property. We also enjoyed dinner at mar’sel, where we sat on the patio overlooking the ocean and experienced first-class food and service. At the spa, Chelse took wonderful care of us. The spa is a true oasis, complete with its own private pool. Our corporate gathering was a small board meeting, and the meeting room, breakfast service, and adjoining patio were absolutely perfect. As I write this review from our patio, I am watching a huge pod of dolphins breaching the surface of the ocean—and I have the video to prove it! Terranea is the perfect escape for both business and pleasure. We will definitely be back, and next time I will be bringing my golf clubs to take on what looks like a beautiful and challenging par-3 course.

To the chef who prepared my lunch through Terranea Resort’s In-Room Dining service today, whoever you are, I hope this review finds its way to you. I’ve enjoyed extraordinary meals in restaurants around the world, but the sea bass you prepared was, without question, the finest I’ve ever tasted. Perfectly seasoned, impossibly tender, beautifully moist, and so delicate it practically melted like butter on my tongue. I ordered the ginger soy sauce on the side, and the fish was so spectacular on its own that it needed absolutely nothing else. The word “delicious” doesn’t come remotely close to doing it justice. Whoever you are, Chef, you have absolutely mastered your craft. Please accept my sincere compliments, and I hope Terranea’s management recognizes the extraordinary talent working in their kitchen. Five stars. I’d give you ten if Google would let me.

We absolutely love Terranea! The resort is beautiful, the rooms are impeccably appointed, and the service is consistently exceptional. We’ve visited several times over the past few years, and every stay has been memorable because the staff always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. This visit, we had the pleasure of staying in the Shearwater Suite, and it was absolutely stunning. Waking up to the breathtaking ocean views each morning was unforgettable. Our family’s favorite restaurant is Bashi—our kids ask to go back every trip! The lobster fried rice and sushi are outstanding and never disappoint. The spa was incredibly relaxing, and our cabana server was friendly, attentive, and worked so hard to make our day perfect. We also enjoy playing a round of golf (even if we’re not very good!); the course offers some of the most spectacular coastal views you’ll find anywhere. Every time we leave Terranea, we feel pampered, relaxed, and genuinely appreciated. It’s one of our favorite places to escape, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

The Terranea experience offers ultimate Zen and rejuvenation. I am local to Los Angeles, however when visiting Terranea I feel as if I’m in a secluded luxury vacation many moons away from home. The property is large and offers ample space for guests, never feeling crowded. Prices are typical resort prices - well worth the money. Every staff member that we encountered was lovely, polished and polite. During this visit we experienced the Spa, dined at Bashi, Catalina Kitchen and Marsel. All were delicious and unique! We stayed in The Casitas which offered all the amenities, equivalent to a one bedroom apartment, with a nice patio to soak up the sunshine and ocean views. It was a visit to remember and we can’t wait to go back.
